BARBADOS’ fast bowling trio of Kemar Roach, Fidel Edwards and Tino Best are among the 14 West Indies cricketers who have been named in Pool ‘A’ for the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
They were revealed today at a press conference at Hilton Barbados, which was also streamed live online to thousands of viewers.
Pool ‘A’ is comprised of West Indian and foreign players, who have played at the international level.
South African Albie Morkel, New Zealand’s Daniel Vettori and Shaun Marsh of Australia are among the overseas players, who are also included in Pool ‘A.’
Several other Barbadians including Alcindo Holder, Ashley Nurse, Carlo Morris, Carlos Brathwaite, Christopher Jordan and Dale Richards were named in Pool ‘B.’
The third and final pool will include Under-23 players, from which each franchise must have at least two representatives in their 15-man squad. The CPL starts at Kensington Oval on July 30 with the Barbados-based franchise opposing the franchise from St Lucia. (RB)
