Illegal immigrants who feel they have been victimized by people who had employed them “under the radar” have been urged to put aside their fears and complain to the relevant authorities.
This advice has come from Magistrate Douglas Frederick who had to deal this past week with an illegal Jamaican immigrant who took out her anger at being fired on her former employer’s television set.
But the woman’s attorney is of the opinion that should illegal immigrants take the magistrate’s advice, they might as well pack their bags and prepare for deportation.
“I know they might feel they have nowhere to turn,” said Magistrate Frederick, “but I would encourage them to come forward nonetheless.”
