Making dollars from cents

BIG-HEARTED BARBADIANS with cents to spare came to Heroes Square yesterday in support of the Barbados Alzheimer’s Association.
As part of the association’s Make Sense Out Of Cents, a joint initiative with the Central Bank of Barbados, scores of people of all ages came with bags, boxes and handfuls of cents.
The goal is to raise $50 000 by yearend towards a day care centre for Alzheimer’s sufferers, a place where loved ones can leave them for a short time without guilt. Association president Pamelia Brereton said she was extremely pleased, adding that Barbadians were very giving. (CA)
