Attorneys-at-law Kerrie Symmonds and Gregory Nicholls today filed an injunction in the High Court of Barbados representing six residents of the Hoyte’s Village, St James seeking judicial review of a decision made by the Cabinet of Barbados to allow B’s Recycling to operate its metal recycling plant at the controversial St Thomas site.
The action is the latest in a controversy that first raised its head in July when the Town Planning Department shut down operations at B’s, and continued last week when Minister of the Environment and Drainage, Dr Denis Lowe stoutly denied that Cabinet had made a decision to swap land at River Bay, St Lucy for B’s purportedly owned by business brothers Andrew and Paul Bynoe, to operate its metal recycling plant at Bagatelle.
