With an enviable record of 15 gold and a host of other awards won at the internationally popular Chelsea Flower Show, the Barbados Horticulture Society in Balls, Christ Church was a hive of activity from early today as the beautiful flowers were being prepared to be shipped to England.
Barbados’ display this year will be held under the theme, Summer Holiday.
Horticulturalist Jean Robinson, a former president of the BHS who coordinated Barbados challenges at Chelsea for 23 years before retiring in 2010, was present as the flowers were being boxed.
