Concern over fish catch

Boat owner Wendell Lovell wants to hear from the Ministry of Agriculture if fish are supposed to be frozen when they are brought to shore by iceboats.
Lovell, who has been a boat owner since 1988, said his concern is about whether the ice they take out on fishing trips is supposed to preserve the fish during the sometimes week-long trip or freeze them.
Yesterday, speaking from the Berinda Cox Fish Market in Oistins, Christ Church, where he operates, Lovell told the SUNDAY?SUN: “We have a problem here where the market manager, he come around and press the fish and is saying that the fish is too soft and are no good.
“We have ice boats and we take out ice for our trips. I want to know from the Minister of Agriculture if the ice boats are supposed to bring in frozen fish, hard fish, or if the ice is supposed to preserve them. Which is it?”
