Five burglaries in the last 12 months at their St Philip holiday home have left a British couple “disillusioned and disappointed”.
They are particularly unhappy with the manner in which the police seem to be treating their case.
John and Marjorie Davis said their home was burgled in April, June, August, October and December last year and there was a failed attempt last month when they were here.
John Davis estimated the total value of the items stolen to be about $40 000 with the most expensive being Mrs Davis’ distinctive Raymond Weil Parsifal 18-carat gold ladies bracelet watch valued at $24 000, while the least expensive was a single dress earring worth $60.
Amongst other things stolen were three Nokia mobile phones and a Dell 820 laptop. The couple also lost memory cards in the phones and laptops containing invaluable photographs along with personal and business information.
Even the cameras for the closed circuit television system they installed in October to stem the burglaries were stolen. In the December incident the recording box was stolen too.
Speaking from his Warwickshire, England home yesterday, Davis complained that he got the impression the police weren’t too interested in their case as they had not acted on the information he had gleaned when he made a public appeal through this newspaper last October and passed on to them.
They just want their case dealt with and are calling on Barbadians who may know something about it to contact them at: [email protected]
