Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC)?pulled of an upset victory over Trinidad and Tobago by 140 runs at Kensington Oval last night to advance to the final of the WICB Super50 competition.
Their semi-final win was set up by teenaged left-handed opener Anthony Alleyne, who showcased his batting skills but failed to complete a welldeserved century.
The 19-year-old Alleyne was given out leg before wicket for 99 by Jamaican umpire Patrick Gustard. However, television replays showed the ball from off-spinner Sherwin Ganga, pitched outside the leg stump.
Alleyne’s solid innings enabled CCC?to post a challenging total of 232 for seven off their 50 overs and their bowlers shocked Trinidad and Tobgo to restrict them to 92.
