Art splash just for kids

The Artsplash Centre in Hastings, Christ Church, was filled with the joyful cries of children yesterday as they hosted the First Steps Academy Easter camp.
The centre’s director Elayne Holsford said it often accommodated camps and was reaching out to schools. She said the 50 children, aged three to 12, had fun in their park, enjoyed a catered lunch and were involved in art projects.
“They did a crayon ink resist which is somewhat similar to batik in that the wax resists the ink and forms shapes. The children love it, they’re really excited,” she said.
Here, Holsford is apparently having just as much fun as the children, creating crayon ink resists. (CA)
