RECENT?ATTACKS?on British visitors in Barbados are not likely to tarnish the island’s reputation as a desirable destination for British visitors, says Britain’s Minister for Africa, the Overseas Territories, Caribbean and International Energy Mark Simmonds.
Simmonds said the island continues to have “an excellent reputation as a tourist destination”.
“I don’t think that the very rare attacks that happen here in Barbados will have a significant detrimental impact on the number of tourists and visitors that come from the United Kingdom,” he said.
“I think those attacks could have happened anywhere in the world,” Simmonds remarked, adding “We who believe in Barbados . . . need to sell the positive message about the excellent opportunities and the excellent tourist facilities that exist here.”
