QEH ‘crisis’

There’s a “Christmas crisis” of basic drug and other supplies at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).
The situation is so grim, says Professor Emeritus Henry Fraser, that Minister of Health John Boyce ought to meet with Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler and health care professionals to resolve it.
The Independent senator made the comments yesterday when the Senate discussed a resolution to approve the guarantee by Government of the principal sum of $25 million, and any interest on it, borrowed by the QEH from RBC Royal Bank (Barbados) Limited to redeem a bond issue.
“What we have on us is a Christmas crisis and a New Year crisis and that crisis has to be solved,” he said.
