Barbadians could be spending Christmas exploring parts of the Garrison tunnels.
The news comes as the Town and Country Planning Department has given the Barbados Garrison Consortium Inc. the green light to open the historic tunnels to the public.
And while vice-president of the Consortium, Peter Stevens, says they pushing for a mid-December showing, he admits there is still a lot to be done before adventurous locals and visitors can descend into the subterranean world beneath the Garrison Savannah.
“We hope to get it done by December and we’re looking at an official opening by November,” Stevens told the SUNDAY SUN.
