HEALING HERBS: Miles of benefit from casuarina

During this holy and holistic season, I greet you with love, compassion, longevity and prosperity; therefore focus on Genesis 3:18: “Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee and thou shalt eat the herb of the field.”
In the beginning (the genesis) these herbs were crafted by the Creator for us as food and medicine. In fact, many of my Barbadian friends use “healing herbs” because they have proven effective.
Joyfully, I will continue to focus on “coastal” silent doctors and shed light on ancient Casuarina equisetifolia, which I call “a treasure amongst the queens”.
It has a curious bark, unique leaves and mystical seeds. The tree is lofty and spectacular and emits whistling sounds as the wind force rises.
The obvious benefits of using this tree are documented in nature. Additionally, I humbly convey an extra special holistic recovery to fellow columnist Richard Hoad.
Recently I was swamped with queries about horsenicker seeds and sexual enhancement. The word “poisonous” was also mentioned.
Note carefully that the seeds, when fully roasted, are pulverized and used in some cultures as a coffee substitute and also to boost stamina.
Hackleton’s Cliff in St Joseph is a natural Eden. It is also the home of many mile/casuarina trees. As a child I played under the trees and used the seeds as counters. I was given mile tree seeds earrings by my husband and mother.
They are creative treasures. However, research shows that the tree seeds are considered anthelmintic, antispasmodic and anti-diabetic.
In some cultures a tea of the roots treats diarrhea, dysentery, nervous disorders and stomach ache.
An astringent from the tree’s bark may be used for hemoptysis (expectoration of blood from the respiratory tract). It can also reduce bleeding from wounds, treats period pain, and promotes menstrual flow.
The powdered bark is used to treat pimples. An infusion of branches is used as a diuretic.
The leaves treat colic and arthritis. A decoction of the twigs is used in making a lotion for swelling and toothache. It can treat beriberi.
Conduct your own research to unearth other positive benefits.
Astonishing benefits are derived from mile trees. Equally astonishing is that education about herbs is a powerful vibratory healing tool. Read Psalm 1:2,3: “. . . Those who delight in the law of the Creator, and who meditate on that law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever they do prospers.”
Continue to rediscover Paradise.
