SOCIAL SCENE: Kenyans welcomed

The social scene at Government House last Wednesday reflected the beauty of African style and the strong connection between Barbados and the “Mother Country” as Governor General Dame Sandra Mason hosted Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta and his wife Margaret Kenyatta and his accompanying delegation.

Less than three hours after President Kenyatta arrived in Barbados for a three-day official visit, he and his delegation were experiencing Bajan hospitality at its best.

The reception on the lawns of Government House was attended by a cross section of guests, with pan-Africanists mingling with diplomats, and visiting Kenyans meeting fellow Kenyans residing in Barbados, community leaders, parliamentarians and other familiar names from the social register. (GC)
