St Andrew road buckles under pressure

HEAVY?RAINFALL YESTERDAY disrupted a number of services, caused schools  to be closed at 2 p.m., and aided the collapse of a road in St Andrew.
The Sanitation Service Authority scaled down  operations, closing its plants at Bagatelle, Parsons, Edgecombe and Lonesome Hill.
Water under a road at Mount All, White Hill, St Andrew, resulted in the road breaking apart.
Residents said a burst main had been steadily destabilizing the area for a week and the situation was worsened by the heavy rainfall.
As a result of the damaged road, the dozen residents or more now have to go through Belleplaine if they want to go from one area of the community to the other. (CA)
