Wanderers battle back

JOEL LEACOCK stabilised the top while Ian Bradshaw resuscitated the bottom of the batting order as Wanderers batted all day to score 228 for nine in 84 overs against ICBL Empire.
Despite the spirited batting performance Empire remained well poised for first innings lead as Wanderers are still 86 runs behind.
Leacock scored 49 with seven threes and two fours sharing a 55-run third wicket partnership with Renaldo Arthur (28). The pair pulled Wanderers from the discomfort of 29 for two but both fell within four runs of each other as another collapse set in to leave them 121 for six.
Bradshaw then led the rearguard action with an innings of 50 off 107 balls. The former Barbados and West Indies all-rounder was ably assisted by Diego Stuart (27).
