UWI unit for visually impaired

VISUALLY IMPAIRED students at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) now have a more accessible library service, with the establishment of a new unit.
The Kerry-Ann Ifill Unit, named in honour of President of the Senate, was officially opened yesterday at the campus’ main library.
The unit offers encouragement to people with a visual impairment to consider Cave Hill as a viable alternative to accessing tertiary education at home rather than travelling overseas.
The unit has accommodation for four work stations and a table for small group work. The accommodation includes technologies with the ability to magnify, read and scan print. (AH)
