In an effort to make the most of limited land space Government is pushing ahead with construction of quadruplexes and high-rise buildings.
Minister of State in the Ministry of Housing and Lands Patrick Todd made no apologies for these designs adding that “not everyone could have their own backyard [anymore]”.
“We have already identified four possible locations for high-rise housing solutions as we realize land is limited so we are committed to high rise development.
“We are about to turn the sod at Valery and we have also identified land at The Grotto, Deacon’s Road and Mason Hall Street, St Michael,” he said after a church service in commemoration of the National Housing Corporation’s (NHC) 38th anniversary at Church of God, Chapman Street, St Michael.
