Barbados Light & Power (BL&P) customers can look forward to a reduction in their electricity bills for August.
The BL&P has announced that the Fuel Clause Adjustment (FCA) for this month has dropped approximately 4 cents to 43.1732 cents per kWh (kilowatt hour) compared to July.
“Fuel now makes up approximately 60 per cent of a customer’s electricity bill and has been one of the main contributing factors to the high electricity bills that customers have been experiencing in recent times,” the company said in a release.
“This recent reduction in the FCA will result in an approximate six per cent reduction in a customer’s electricity bill in August compared to July for the same amount of electricity billed. However, customers should note that the impact on their bill will be dependent on their own electricity usage, as this might have increased or indeed declined,” it said. (PR/MM)
