Scotia working to help clients

AT LEAST ONE commercial bank is taking steps to ensure that people do not lose their homes and other possessions now.
Noting that he was not seeing any customers who had fallen victims to hard times, Scotiabank’s manager of external sales Trevor Springer said his staff intervenes before the situation gets out of hand.
“If a client is having any difficulty, we invite them to come in. We have officers that will sit down and discuss your financial situation at the point in time [and] we do a restructuring of your loans to see what we can do for you . . . .
“We don’t just look at the loan at this point in time; we look at your total financial picture and then we advise you as to how best we can tailor a loan or our other products to suit you at this point in time.
