Vehicle shells released

THE?Customs Department has finally begun releasing a number of vehicle shells held for the past six months.
Yesterday at least two “automobile manufacturers” were able to get their shells out of the Bridgetown Port.
This followed a court hearing last week in which attorney at law Ralph Thorne, QC, appeared before Justice Elneth Kentish seeking a judicial review on the decision of the Comptroller of Customs not to release imported automobile shells and engine parts to his client Leroy Went.
Deputy Solicitor General Donna Brathwaite appeared on behalf of the Comptroller of Customs.
