THE POLICE say there is a worrying increase in crime in Brittons Hill and it could be related to the scarcity of drugs on the streets and the rise of the cash for gold scheme.
New crime prevention officer Station Sergeant Stephen Griffith made this assertion Thursday night at a Royal Barbados Police Force town hall meeting at St Paul’s Primary School that focused on the crime situation in Brittons Hill and, to a lesser extent, Hastings.
“So far our crime squad and the various investigative units involved in drugs are doing an excellent job in preventing drugs from entering our shores.
“As a result, there will be shortfalls in the fiscal arrangement with those involved, and some of them have decided to take another recourse,” he said.
