Li’l Rick a no-show

EVEN THOUGH A deposit was made for entertainer Li’l Rick to perform at the Bacchanal Time vs The Best Of Crop-Over showon Wednesday night, the artiste was a no-show.The show was organised by Madd Entertainment Incorporated. Yesterday, a disappointed Kevin Hinds, co-founder of Madd Entertainment, told the WEEKEND NATION that his company “made a deposit” to the artiste’s management company, Pyramid Entertainment, early this month.Hinds said: “If you’re a booking agency and you’re an entertainment supplier, that is a legal contract. We [Madd’s management] are going to have to sit down together and see where it goes from here, in terms of what decisions would be made by Madd Entertainment Incorporated.”He added: “Last week we were contacted with an explanation that he cannot perform on the show. But at the same time he had no other bookings and he wasn’t sick. We enquired as to why and we never got any answers to why. All they kept repeating is that he cannot perform on that show. We advertised him a lot on radio, we invested money . . . we depended on him being there.”When contacted, Santia Bradshaw, director of Pyramid Entertainment, confirmed that Madd Entertainment made a deposit to her company on July 16. Bradshaw said she was out of the country at the time, but “as soon as it was drawn to my attention what had transpired I asked for them to be contacted to let them know that Rick would be unable to perform”.“By the Monday one of the staff spoke to Kevin and indicated what had transpired and confirmed that Li’l Rick could not perform for the event and then they never contacted us back.“In a situation like that, normally a promoter would say, ‘We understand the situation – could you offer us somebody else’? I then called Eric Lewis and indicated to him the same thing that he had been told before, and he said that he would have his attorneys contact me . . . I have not heard from his attorneys,” said Bradshaw.
