Barbados’ women’s team named

FIRE OFFICER Reshelle Griffith is the lone newcomer in the Barbados team for the West Indies Cricket Board’s 2010 Women’s Tournament in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from August 10 to 19.Griffith is a 23-year-old right-handed middle-order batswoman. Former CARIFTA Games javelin gold medallist Kyann Maynard, who is a fast-medium bowler, makes a return to the team as well as the versatile Knight twin sisters, Kycia and Kyshona of the Springer Memorial School, who have also represented Barbados in football and athletics.The team will be captained by West Indies swing bowler Shakera Selman and includes veteran Pamela Lavine and the hard-hitting Deandra Dottin, who played in this year’s World Twenty20 Cup in the Caribbean.Fast bowler Danielle Small and off-spinning all-rounder Charlene Taitt have also represented the West Indies.
