Final farewell to people person

Family, friends and old scholars of the Combermere School gathered at the King Street Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church, The City to remember the life of Harold Austin Wharton.
But it was not too sombre of an occasion as the former educator and church elder was fondly remembered as a man who always gave of himself and touched many lives.
In addition, executive secretary of the Eastern Caribbean Conference of SDA churches, Pastor Carl Dyal, who delivered the sermon, said death was only temporary as Jesus had conquered death and would one day return to claim the righteous.
During the tributes, “Lord Haw-Haw” and “Prof”, as he was sometimes called, was described as a dedicated member of the church who carried his Christianity into his teaching, as an asset to the Kingdom of God and a loving family man.
