What’s Trending:Mother needs help

The Nation’s Online Editor Carol Martindale looks at What’s Trending in Barbados today.
The story this morning grabbing the attention of our online readers is the one involving the evicted mother who is crying out for help.
Dionne Knight, 30, was forced to sleep inside a galvanized shed last Sunday night with her three young children including a two-month old baby.
She wants help to avoid a repeat of that experience.

Margaret Ross: “It’s sad when you hear these stories coming out of Barbados. Come on now, can the Housing Authority find this family temporary housing?”
Conchita Moseley: “I am surprised that it took so long for another young mother with children to cry out for help with housing. Was it not only a few months ago when a 21-year-old with two children and one on the way broke into a house which was allocated to someone one else and after some controversy, was she not housed?  What do you expect?
Neikei Grant: “The cruelty of the mindset of some people scare me. At the end of the day three small helpless children are homeless and all we can think of is a mother crying out for help. Not everyone is fortunate. I thank God for the bit I have. If there’s anyway these children can be assisted I’ll be happy to help. Shame on women who can’t see pass their noses. We never know when hardship will find us. That’s life.”
