DEAR CHRISTINE: Positive words for wronged girl

Share post:

Dear Christine,
I am writing in response to the letter last week where the young man who is studying overseas got another girl pregnant, while his fiancé is here [in Barbados].
Although your advice seems okay, this young lady’s life will be short-changed because of her fiancé’s mishaps.
She did not go out and get pregnant by another man. She did the decent thing and waited for him.
If she wants to forgive him, it’s up to her. However, she should wait until the baby comes and see what the outcome will be.
Furthermore, if he wants her forgiveness, he should earn it before she walks down the aisle with him.
She is still a young woman with many, many years ahead of her.
Men are always doing crap and blaming it on alcohol, drugs and whatever makes them feel good.
Girl, if you were my daughter I would tell you not to [marry him], but since you are not, just do what is best for you.
Stop crying, blow your nose, grab a girlfriend and go dancing.
He doesn’t deserve one more tear. Keep your head up and know that you have not done anything wrong.
– E.
Dear E,
It’s great to hear from you again.
Thanks so much for your feedback and timely advice.
It is always good to get different opinions and I am sure that your response will let the writer know that another sister is standing with her.
– CHRISTINE
