SEPARATING JEFF BROOMES from Alexandra School may not be an easy task.
About 30 aggrieved teachers and their representative, the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU), have been pressing for Broomes’ separation from the school.
They believe it will bring an end to the multiple issues, but it seems he has a carrot that packs more wallop than the stick of the broom with which they want to sweep him out.
Broomes has the advantage of a letter which appointed him as principal of Alexandra School. He is among several principals, in the older secondary schools in particular, with that distinction.
Some of the others include the principals of Harrison College, Queen’s College, The St Michael School, Christ Church Foundation, Alleyne, Princess Margaret, Combermere and Grantley Adams.
