The Steede and Bishop families have a problem and say they are tired of unfulfilled promises from the Urban Development Commission (UDC).
The problem lies in the terrible living conditions of two of their own, Harold and Ivan Bishop, who live side-by-side on Airlie Tenantry Road, Cave Hill, St Michael.
“We have been trying to get help for them since 1999, back when Christopher Sinckler [the present Minister of Finance] was in charge of the UDC,” Harold’s great niece, Karen Steede, told the DAILY NATION.
“One house belonged to my grandmother Dorothy Bishop but she is now at the Geriatric Hospital. That house is now occupied by my uncle Ivan, her son, who is a mental patient. The other house belongs to my great uncle Harold Bishop and both are in bad shape.”
