Residents?of Reece Road, Cane Garden, St Thomas, who were badly affected by the inferno at B’s Recycling and Metal Dump two weeks ago, are contemplating legal action.
Informed sources told the SUNDAY?SUN that six of the residents met with an attorney at law last Monday to discuss possible legal recourse. They are contemplating a class action lawsuit as well as filing an injunction preventing the company from proceeding with any further work at the controversial dump site.
Two weeks ago, fire broke out at the metal dump which resulted in thick black smoke affecting residents and businesses not only in the immediate vicinity of the dump but other St Thomas districts and several parishes.
The affected residents, who have been crying out for several years against the operation of the dump in what is supposed to be an upper middle class district with strict Town Planning regulations, are hoping to garner additional support from other affected parties at a town hall meeting scheduled for next Wednesday at Lester Vaughan School hall.
