More than just football

CRITICS OF THE DAVID Thompson Memorial Constituency Councils Football Classic (DTMCCFC) are being told not to knock the competition before they try it.
Former parliamentarian and one of the tournament organizers, Hamilton Lashley,  is urging those persons  who continually question  government’s decision  to host the annual event  not to be “armchair critics.”
Lashley told NATIONSPORT that he had become disgusted after listening to various radio call-in programmes over the course of the past two weeks, only to hear people continually criticizing government’s decision to spend over half a million dollars  on the football competition.
But Lashley, who quit active politics in 2012, has contended that the DTMCCFC is much more than just about football.
