Barbados have kicked their way to the top – again.
Led by dominant performances from the men’s and masters’ squads, the hosts picked up another regional karate title after being adjudged the most outstanding adult team at the just-concluded Caribbean Karate Championships.
Backed by boisterous crowds at the Barbados Community Collge last weekend, Team Barbados edged southern rivals Trinidad and Tobago by one medal after picking up a division-best eight medals in both the men’s and masters’ categories.
In the end, Barbados finished with 18 gold, 16 silver and ten bronze medals.
It was a performance truly worth celebrating, and the local side did just that at the end of the championships.
