Living with no regrets

Share post:

What is your favourite childhood memory?
Going to cattle markets and auctions, learning how to deal.
What is your most fabulous moment?
Meeting Sidney Poitier when I was in New York. I then understood the true meaning  of your knees going weak.
What are you most passionate about?
My work, my girls, Barbados and life in general.
What is your biggest regret?
I don’t believe in regrets, so I don’t have any. I believe that there is a lesson in everything, even the bad things or things that we find difficult to cope with at the time.
Who has made the biggest impact on your life?
Diana, Princess of Wales. She was a serious inspiration to me. I was quite young when she married the Prince of Wales, but watched as she grew and gave so much of herself to others and I learnt how good it feels to give.
A life-changing moment was the day that I realised that no one was ever going to give me anything and that I was the captain of my own ship and that I had to find a way forward. Hannah Properties Ltd was the way forward. There is no substitute for hard work.
My most treasured possession is the memories and lessons I learnt from those who are no longer with us.
How did I exist without my cellphone? I seem to spend my life on one, and with no pleasurable chat – stictly work. I could also not exist without a sense of humour.
What I love most about myself now is the fact that I do not discriminate and that I am as happy in a rum shop as I am in the Trump International Hotel. I believe that a lot of people miss out in life by believing that they are either too good or not good enough. We all come into the world with nothing and we leave with nothing. Therefore we are all the same.
