Hairstylist Janelle Cooper-Lewis showcases her chic wardrobe by giving us a sneak peek into her closet.
1. How would you define your personal style?
Being original with creative and chic ideas is a definition of my personal style.
2.Do you find that you follow fashion trends or do you play by your own rules?
I try to incorporate both aspects. Usually, I take key pieces from trends to personalize and influence my style.
3. Has your fashion sense changed over the years or has it remained the same?
Yes, the evolution of fashion forces you to change within your own sense of comfort.
4. Are there any colours that your tend to shy away from, and if so why?
I typically wear most colours. I think colours are very beautiful, and expressive plus they inspire my mood.
5. As a child were you always into clothes or did you grow into your own fashion sense?
I was a tomboy so clothes weren’t a major factor for me. Becoming a cosmetologist has expanded my acceptance of fashion, so I guess you could say I grew into my fashion sense. Now I’m a bit more daring with clothes and I allow them to reflect different attitudes while allowing me to be a more fun and interesting individual.
6. How does your day to day life factor into your wardrobe choices?
Generally I dress depending on my mood. I also try to choose outfits of various hues that reflect my personality or my responsibility for the day.
7. Are there any designers that you like to wear or whose clothing stands out with you?
I embrace many designers. But I like Armani Xchange for their unique cut, while BCBGirls and Aldo have comfortable heels.
What are three to five things that every woman should have in their closet?
1. Excellent fitted jeans
2. High quality foundation garments
3. Stiletto heels
4. Vibrant piece
5. Sexy black dress
