Brewster new managing director at Super Centre

Neville Brewster, operations director at Super Centre, has been promoted to managing director of the company.
Frere Delmas, executive chairman of Neal & Massy’s Food Retail Business Unit, said Brewster takes up his new post October 1, after the retirement of David Neilands from that position.
As managing director of the supermarket chain, Brewster will be responsible for, among other duties, the efficient management of all operational, financial, human resources and information technology systems within the company to achieve the desired goals.
In addition, he will be required to provide leadership and strategic direction in the development and execution of company plans as well as to lead the ongoing integration process of the company into the Neal & Massy Group.
Brewster brings 27 years’ diverse business experience to this position, 14 of which with Barbados Shipping & Trading,  part of Neal & Massy Group.
He joined Super Centre Limited as operations manager in 1998 and within two years, was promoted to director of operations. In 2005 he was seconded to Peronne Manufacturing Limited as general manager for a two-year period, providing overall direction, coordination and evaluation of all manufacturing units as well as establishing standards for controlling expenses, reducing wastage, ensuring quality and safety, among other aspects.
In March 2007, he returned to Super Centre to resume his substantive role.
A Harrison College old scholar, he holds a Master of Business Administration degree with specialization in marketing from the Inter-American University in Puerto Rico and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Puerto Rico, which he gained due to an athletic scholarship.
Last September, he completed a Future Retail Leaders Development Programme at the John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management, University of California. Brewster is also fluent in Spanish. (PR)
