Ministry of Transport and Works officials, including Minister John Boyce, are scheduled to tour the Wharf Road on Monday to get an idea of what must be done.
After Tropical Storm Tomas, a number of faults have been discovered in the heavily used road, both above and below water, causing officials to close the area to all vehicular traffic. This has caused a heavy backup of traffic and lengthy waits for motorists moving through the City.
As a result, a number of traffic changes have been enacted, one of the most significant being a part of Broad Street being made into a two-lane street.
In an interview on Friday, Boyce said they had received the coastal engineer’s report and hoped to have the situation rectified as soon as possible, adding a Press conference would follow his tour. (CA)
