ST GEORGE’S, Grenada – The Grenada parliament has approved legislation allowing the government to access US$8.5 million from the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Fund for International Development for a major road rehabilitation project.
The project had been halted after the company Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) pulled out of the project, putting hundreds of workers on the breadline.
Opposition Leader Dr Keith Mitchell accused the Tillman Thomas administration of failing to reach an amicable settlement with CCC before the loan was finalised. (CMC)
