‘Adequate’ shelter for evacuees

Barbados has a?system in place to deal with housing people evacuated before and after any major disaster.
This assurance was given yesterday by the island’s chief shelter warden Laurie King.
“We have put a number of things in place to ensure that there is adequate management and arrangements in place to ensure we can house evacuees before and after a disaster.
“We have approximately 130 facilities identified as shelters. . . . For the most part these shelters are schools and churches,” King said.
