Lashley disappointed with Government agencies

GOVERNMENT MINISTER STEPHEN LASHLEY says he is disappointed that nothing had been done to turn around the deplorable living conditions suffered by a young Christ Church family.
Lashley, parliamentary representative for the area, said he had referred the situation to the Rural Development Commission (RDC) and by extension to the Ministry of Housing for the matter to be dealt with urgently.
“In my view, it did not have to require an article in The NATION to trigger a response. I am disappointed that this case did not get the priority it deserved,” he said.
The minister was referring to the MIDWEEK NATION’s back page story which highlighted the plight of the young family of five – ages 18, 16, 11, 8 and 6.
