Respect ‘a must’

Mothers, train your children to respect themselves and each other and there will be a reduction in violence in society.
This advice was offered by Vinette Hinds, mother of Kimberley Hinds, a 24-year-old mother of two who was found dead in her Rock Hall, St Thomas, home around 3 p.m. by a family member and her landlord on March 17.
Hinds was speaking yesterday to the MIDWEEK NATION in Heroes Square, the City, where a minute’s silence was observed at noon as family members of victims of the Tudor Street Campus Trendz tragedy gathered to observe the tragedy’s third anniversary.
As many of the speeches at the commemoration focused on stamping out all types of violence, Hinds said that since her daughter died she often reflected on the circumstances surrounding her death and came to the realization that mothers needed to train their children to be respectful and to appropriately handle their problems.
