WHEN THE EARL AND COUNTESS of Wessex visit Barbados later this week, wherever they go they will most likely see the best face of the island.
Preparations are in full swing to upgrade, renovate and clean up the areas the royal couple will visit and the routes the two will travel are also being spruced up.
Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, and Countess Sophie will be on a two-day visit – Thursday and Friday – as part of the Caribbean tour to represent the Queen throughout her Diamond Jubilee Year.
Yesterday as workmen from the Ministry of Transport and Works gave the pedestrian crossings, arrows and other markings in the roads a touch-up of white paint and trimmed trees, Minister of Transport and Works John Boyce made a visit to some of these areas.
