The United States and other Western governments have been taken to task for their intrusion in Venezuela’s political affairs.

According to the Friends of Venezuela Solidarity Committee Barbados, President Nicolas Maduro was democratically elected by close to 69 per cent of the votes in a “free” and fair election in May 2018.

And the Organisation of American States’ support of Juan Guaido is illegal.
Several of the committee members held placards and played drums whiled gathered at the corner of Wildey Road, St Michael, a stone’s throw away from US Embassy yesterday.

“No one man can determine himself the president of Venezuela and we think that it is a very backward step by the United States, Canada and other European states by supporting a position that is not democratic,” Secretary General David Denny said. (TG)
