Water has been restored to a number of areas across Barbados which were without this precious commodity.
A release from the Barbados Water Authority stated that they will be working with the Barbados Light and Power Company to restore power to the remaining pumping stations.
“The Barbados Water Authority’s management has been reviewing the status of its operations and is pleased to report that power has been restored to number of its pumping stations. As a result several areas that were without water are now being serviced. The BWA continues to work in close collaboration with the Barbados Light and Power Co to restore power to its remaining pumping stations,” stated the release.
It also noted that water tankers have been dispatched to those areas without water, recognising it may take some time for the tankers to reach all areas.
“The Authority is appealing to those consumers who currently have supply to conserve water. The Authority regrets the inconvenience caused and apologises to its customers,” added the release. (CM)
