Security briefing

Security will be tight for the state funeral of the late Prime Minister David Thompson next Wednesday.
Stringent measures are being put in place for not only Kensington Oval, where the funeral service will be held, but also at the St John Parish Church, where Thompson will be buried.
Yesterday the DAILY NATION spotted Barbados Defence Force (BDF) and Coast Guard personnel standing on the main road in St John, just a stone’s throw away from the St John Parish Church cemetery.
Lieutenant Colonel Sean Reece explained that the group was putting contingency plans in place for the route to ensure that things ran smoothly.
Here, Sean Reece, in Coast Guard uniform backing, interacts with police and other BDF security personnel.
