Tourist drowns in St Philip

A CANADIAN visitor drowned in St Philip today in what police are currently treating as an unnatural death.
Police public relations officer Inspector David Welch said Paul Van Zupthen, 60, was swimming off Crane Beach when two lifeguards were summoned to assist him when it appeared he was in difficulty.
Reports indicate Zupthen was brought ashore where CPR was delivered but was unsuccessful and he died on the scene. Zupthen was on vacation with his wife.
