POLICE ARE on the hunt for three men who tried to extort money from a Christ Church woman last week, after tying up one of her guests.
Reports indicated that Vayne Marshall of St Patrick’s was asleep when the assailants, two of them armed with a sword and a knife, entered her home during the early hours of Friday.
Sources said the culprits knocked at Marshall’s door and when she opened it, she saw one of her guests being held at knifepoint, with his hands tied behind his back.
According to further reports, the robbers demanded cash and requested that Marshall go to a nearby bank.
However, an alert Marshall managed to escape from the three men and dashed to an area where she was able to untie a dog, which charged at the robbers, who hurriedly ran away.
The thieves got away with items – including a cellphone and a wallet – valued at over $1 000. (TS)
