NCDs on the rise

With economic development and increasing affluence, far more Barbadians are becoming inactive and developing Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).
This assessment was made by Prime Minister Freundel Stuart yesterday at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
He was delivering the feature address during a National Consultation in preparation for the United Nations High Level meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases to be held in the United States in September.
Stuart said this was despite the implementation of several programmes and legislation, and while some progress has been made in the battle against NCDs, there was still much work to be done. (MM)
