Onions are back on the local market.
Marketing Manager at The Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation Trevor Roberts said today in a release that adequate quantities of imported onions were once again available.
He explained that the shortage over the past two weeks was caused by a number of factors beyond their control.
“Among these, were local and international unfavorable weather conditions which severely impacted upon the volume of marketable onions. In addition potential imports were hampered due to the poor quality of onions available from our overseas suppliers,” he said. (PR)
