Soca lovers from all walks of life came out yesterday to party at the MQI 98.1 The One Soca Royale at Busy Park.
They jammed, danced and went totally insane and not even intermittent scattered showers could stop them.
With picnic chairs, coolers filled with plenty drinks, food to last the evening, the crowd gathered from as early as 12 o clock ready to have a good time.
Old, young and in between took in the St Philip breeze as they listened to the Soca warriors at the beginning of the day. However, not surprisingly the music from the warriors was more appreciated by the older crowd.
At 3:45 the competition got underway, much to the delight and satisfaction of the crowd.
By the time the Sweet Soca competition ended, the crowd was now in a frenzy as was ready for the Party Monarch.
However, in the mean time while they waited they were kept on their feet, grooving to music from the 98. 1 family.
The Party Monarch began at 7 p.m. and the show is scheduled to end at 10 p.m. (DB)
