ATTORNEY GENERAL?Adriel Brathwaite has acknowledged that it may be some time before the Freedom Of Information Act comes before Parliament.
He said though there had been a delay Government was committed to having the legislation passed.
“The Freedom Of Information Act, like the acts for integrity, defamation, we have promised that we were going to get done,” he told the DAILY NATION. “We actually set up a governance committee that did an initial draft of the Freedom Of Information Act.
“It is presently with the Chief Parliamentary Counsel’s office and is one of the things that we would dearly love to have gotten done but we are just not equipped to get them all done as quickly as we would have wanted.”
